 Laci had a colt
« Result #1 on Mar 29, 2009, 12:12pm »

Laci had a colt, out of Darkmoons Whitehawk. We think his coloring is a buckskin and he is definately pinto. He is solid white with only 2 patches of color, one on the side of his chest and the other on his side, with beautiful blue eyes. We are really thrilled with this colt, Whitehawk sure showed us he can produce awesome babies. We will have pictures up on the website soon.

The next mare due to foal should be Ellie. She is a palomino pinto bred to Boones Mr. Supreme. Her due date is April 16th.

We hope to see you at the barn.

Allison

 Krystal foaled a filly

Upon arriving home March 25th, from work, I noticed an extra set of legs standing beside Krystal. The sneaky girl had her baby 10 days early, as her due date was supposed to be April 4th. I had been bringing her in at night, and decided that morning, that I was going to start putting the foaling monitor on her, because her hips had started sinking in. I had no idea that she was that close to foaling. ::) She had a beautiful buckskin pinto filly, that will probably test to be homozygous, as she has ink spots all over her. Both mom and daughter are doing great! I will try to get her pictures on the website soon, but for anyone wanting to see her before then, just drop me an email and I will send you some pics of her. soldanza@aol.com
We are still waiting on Laci to foal, her due date is March 27. My apologies for the streaming cam not being on. I was hoping to have it up and running by now, but we are still working on it.

2009 Foaling season about to begin
« Result #4 on Feb 28, 2009, 12:50pm »

Hi forum friends,
Our 2009 babies are soon to be here. This year we have 5 confirmed mares due to foal. Lacy, bred to Darkmoon's Whitehawk, is the first due to foal, with her due date being March 27th. Following her, is Krystal, then Ellie and last is Cookie. Willow was bred to Legacy, for a March foal, but when she wouldn't stop breeding, our vet told us to stop breeding her and she would come out and give her a shot to regulate her heat cycle's. This took place a month later, and we rebred her to Danny. She was then supposed to be due in May. She is very big now, and looks to be about the same size as the first two mares due to foal. The vet came out the other day and ultrasounded her and said she probably will be due in March from the first breeding. So we wait and see. If the baby is a pinto, since Legacy is homozygous for the pinto gene, then it is his.
We hope to have the cam up and running in the next few weeks, as we will be bringing the mares inside at nighttime.

We hope you can join us in watching and welcoming our new foals this season.

Allison

Our 2008 babies are now on our website

I know, I know, it took me a while, but I finally have the 2008 babie's picture's up on our website, and be sure to check out the sales page too. You never know, you might see something you just gotta have. lol

We had the vet come out to do ultrasounds and so far:

Krystal, China Doll, Cookie and Suzanna are confirmed in foal. Laci got out and was one of the mares I was going to have ultrasounded, but she ran around peeing at the boys, so the vet said " I guess we don't need to ultrasound her". Well, if she is in season, she sure won't let the stallion breed her, so I guess we will have her ultrasounded when we get the last bunch of girls done. We had Karmel and Ellie ultrasounded, but they were so full of poop all she could make out was their intestines. Soooo, we don't know if they are in foal or not, I guess we will just have to keep watching them, to see if they come back in season. We will have Fancy, Willow, Sabrina and Laci ultrasounded in about a month. I will let you know who else is confirmed in foal at that time. We will also post their due dates on our website.

Thanks,

Allison

Hi friends,
While our foaling season is over for us here, we are enjoying watching and playing with our 4 beautiful babies. I have posted pictures of Dreamer on my website under the 2008 foals page, and hope to have the other three on there soon. We certainly had an exceptional foal crop this year, and are very pleased with what our mares and stallions produced.

We will be having our vet out this afternoon to ultrasound 7 or 8 mares that have been bred for 2009 foals. We are still currently breeding 2 mares, so we will have them checked at a later date. I will update you on the mares ultrasounded and let you know who is confirmed in foal and when their due dates will be.

I hope everyone is enjoying their spring and summer months.

Allison :)

 China Doll finally foaled!
« Result #8 on Apr 27, 2008, 6:09pm »

Sorry this post is about a week late, but as most of you know China Doll finally got down to business and had a solid chestnut colt, she was at day 380. Whew!!! Such a long time to carry a baby, but she did it, and had no problems delivering him. He is a beauty, with great confirmation and bloodlines, and just the sweetest little boy.

Cookie's foal "AKV Legacys Dare To Dream" aka "Dreamer" has tested positive for being homozygous for the pinto gene, which means he will throw pinto 100% of the time when bred to any solid or pinto mare.

Sabrina is 2 weeks overdue, but.......... She is showing signs she is getting close. Her rear is really sunken in and soft, and her bag is finally getting bigger. She has had a small bag for some time now, but it has gotten bigger in the last 2 days. Hopefully it wont be long before she shows us her baby. She is also bred to "Boones Mr Supreme" a great grandson of "Boones Little Buckeroo". We have switched Sabrina to cam 2 and Cookie and Dreamer are on cam 3 now.

Thanks for watching! Happy Foaling!!!

Allison ;)
